The inspiration...
A loving tita (tagalog or filipino word for auntie) wanted to give the bride & groom a beautiful cake to match their wedding theme. The color pallet for this cake and elegant wedding was to be deep luscious purple with a light romantic beige. From a piece of paper that she gave me as inspiration to my sketch or design for this cake.
My sketch...
Left: My essential tools as I get set up.
Right: Making the fondant leaves...one by one...with powdered sugar all around. Powdered sugar is considered as the 'flour' for cake decorating.
Left: The top layer of chocolate cake covered in milk chocolate buttercream
Right: The bottom layer after it was covered with the beige fondant. Nice & smooth :)
The cake after it is constructed with the base, top layer, bottom layer, berries, deep purple ribbon, and leaves. The whimsical design was hand piped with lavender decorating gel.
And now for the finishing touches with fresh purple calla lilies & a bright purple sheer ribbon.
A closer look at the detailed embellishments...
The End...for a Very Berry d'Vine Cake
