For the Love of Anthropologie

For the love of Anthropologie...

Recently I received a request from a dear sister of the lucky bride-to-be for a bridal shower cake that is inspired by Anthropologie. I, myself, being a fan of the store was quite intrigued. However, I thought long & hard on how I was going to incorporate the feel and romance the second you enter ANY Anthropologie store into an edible cake. I was perplexed...

So immediately, I asked the usual questions: Is there a theme to the shower? Is there a color scheme? Thinking some of those answers will help me create a design. Usually, these designs will immediately pop into my head and I'll know exactly what I would make for the client. This time however... Things were a little different to say the least.

The theme is anthropologie, a simple yet romanic & whimiscal approach. The color was purple and orange. The shower was a intimate and small setting.

I was motivated and started my research for the perfect inspiration piece. I found
this:

The shower host also wanted to incoporate a damask like design. So we decided on a small, simple, yet whimiscal cake with purple fondant, white stenciling, and orange accents.

This was the result:

Even the inside of this purple/orange cake was a nice golden color: A Mango+Passionfruit cake + buttercream goes right with the theme of the shower.

I wanted the stencil to have a romantic look with no sharp edges. So I waited for the sugar stencilig to dry then dusted the design all around with silver petal dusts. The butterlies were floating in mid-air and hovering over the cake like two lovers in spring time. It was truly a romantic result.

Everything at this shower, from the sign-in table...
To the settings...

Little romance in the details around the room...

To a dedicated anthro-inspired wine bar...
To finally, these wonderful little wine tags...
It was no wonder why we had a glowing and beautiful bride-to-be living this Anthropologie inspired pre-wedding glee!
